Events, book sale set at Talcott Free Library in May

ROCKTON - Talcott Free Library, 101 E. Main St., Rockton, has events set for the month of May.

Visitors can explore the wonderful world of words with local author Nancy Hanewall Stacy at 6:30 p.m. on May 16. Attendees will learn about the origins of sayings, how to use words to bring joy to others and find out if they are a flibbertigibbet.

University of Illinois Extension educator Grant McCarty will be at the library at 5:30 p.m. on May 21 to discuss how to get started growing a vegetable garden, including selecting vegetables, planting, maintenance and final harvest.

A spring book sale will take place from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on May 18, and 9 a.m.- 8 p.m. on May 20-21. Hosted by the Friends of Talcott Free Library, the sale will include gently used books, audio books and DVDs. Proceeds will help support the Talcott Free Library.
