JANESVILLE - The Rock County Historical Society will host a History Makers Gala at 6 p.m. on April 27 to honor five "stars" of Rock County who made a significant difference in the community.
The theme for the evening will be "The Golden Age of Hollywood." Guests will be immersed in old-style Hollywood all evening with dinner, dancing to live music by the DB Orchestra from Madison, a live auction and some Hollywood-style surprises.
Recipients are: Joe and Tina Pregont, The Phoenix Award, for their work and support in restoring the Tallman Carriage House; Paul Ryan, The Generations Award, for representing the people of Janesville and sharing his pride for his hometown throughout his career; ARISE Now, The Community Pride Award, for the private-public partnership that supports activities and organizations working to transform downtown Janesville; Ron and Margaret Delaney, The Good Neighbor Award, for their work with Janesville's Look West neighborhood group; and Anna Marie Lux, the Scholar Award, for her work as a reporter telling the stories of people in the Janesville community.
The gala will be held at the Pontiac Convention Center, 2809 N. Pontiac Drive, Janesville. Tickets are $75 per person and will go on sale to the general public on March 17. They are available to purchase online at www.rchs.us/historymakers.
