CFNIL awards grants to Rock Valley College

ROCKFORD - Rock Valley College recently announced it has received two grants from the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois (CFNIL) Community Grants Program.

The college was awarded a $12,632 grant by the Ralph E. and Mildred Johnson Fund for supplemental instruction for Gateway Courses. The purpose of supplemental instruction is to provide additional learning support to students enrolled in courses who have a high risk for low grades, withdrawals or incompletes.

Rock Valley College also received a $16,178 grant for student laptop rentals. This amount was awarded by the Dr. Louis and Violet Rubin Fund. The funds will be used to purchase and upgrade laptops as part of the college's laptop rental program.
