Public events scheduled in October at Beloit College

BELOIT - Beloit College has the following events scheduled for October which are open to the public:

• Reading by Takiguchi Yusho - 4:30 p.m. on Monday at North Lounge, World Affairs Center. Takiguchi Yusho will read from his Akutagawa Prize-winning novel "The Unceasing."

• Film: Pink Ribbons, Inc. - 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 19 at Richardson Auditorium, Morse-Ingersoll. Documentary by Lea Pool about the rise of corporate involvement in fundraising for charities.

• West African Influences on Latin American Folk Dance - 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 24 at Weeks Lounge, Pearsons Hall, with Marcus Hayes.

• The Nexus of Hydrogeosciences and Green Energy - 4 p.m. on Oct. 25 at Sanger Center for the Sciences, room 150, with David Boutt.

• Dani Rodrik, Miller Upton Keynote - 7 p.m. on Oct. 26 at Sanger Center for the Sciences Atrium.

• 2018 Freedom March - beginning at 10 a.m. on Oct. 26 at Aldrich Field.

• Frame by Frame, Weissberg Human Rights Film Series - 7 p.m. on Oct. 29 at Richardson Auditorium, Morse-Ingersoll Hall. Film about photojournalism in Afghanistan and efforts to establish a free press.
