'What a great city we live in'

Print Article

My daughters and I would like to thank from the bottom of our hearts all the members of the Beloit Janesville Symphony and the Beloit College Community Chorus, including the fine soloists, who performed so well this past Sunday at the memorial concert for our wife and mother, Anita Andrew.

They are truly wonderful community treasures who deserve our full support. The BJSO under Dr. Robert Tomaro has mounted an amazing comeback from the depths of the Great Recession, and the Beloit College choirs under the direction of Christopher Joyner have never sounded better. I hope everyone will consider continuing to attend concerts of both musical groups and to support them financially.

A good start would be by attending the Beloit College Annual Holiday Concert on Sunday, December 8 at 4:30 and the BJSO's Holiday Pops concert open dress rehearsal on Thursday, December 12 at 7 p.m., both at Eaton Chapel of Beloit College, with the BJSO concert repeated at JPAC in Janesville Sunday December 15 at 2 p.m.

We also want to thank all the many people who turned out for the concert and supported us in so many ways in what was a very difficult year for us. We already knew what a great community we live in, but we learned it even more this past year.
