For several years as I have driven from Loves Park to Beloit, passing Fair Oaks Rehabilitation Center. Many cars fill the parking lot and I recently noticed an addition to the building. However, never did I dream I would be a patient.
After two serious spinal surgeries and major infection within a month, my family researched where I could recover with expert wound care twice a day, IV antibiotics three times per day, and rehabilitation to strengthen my body and assist me in walking again. Little did I know that the best center to meet all those needs was right in our own back yard.
I cannot begin to praise the professionalism of every single staff member from administrators to cleaning staff. Recently someone asked me to describe the atmosphere. I said: "It is a joyful place in which to recover." Evan, their wound care expert, not only went above and beyond researching care of my three incisions and allergy to adhesives, but trained the entire nursing staff to do it when he was not on duty. The nursing staff of caring, loving and professional men and women is the best I have experienced.
And the CNA care givers and even the cleaning staff were friendly and willing to perform any task to make life more comfortable. I am so incredibly grateful to have found such a wonderful care unit in this area. People often share with me that they have to travel to other cities around the state for this kind of care. Well, I can attest to the fact that we have the very best right here in our own back yard.
I express my thanks to the entire staff and hope that others will take advantage of a rehabilitation center that truly dedicates itself to healing and wholeness.
