Over 600 children in grades K-12. That's how many children the Beloit Public School District identified last year as being "housing unstable" - by definition that means they're sleeping in cars, couch surfing, double/triple/quadrupling up with others in a place meant for one family, staying in cheap motels, or staying in shelters.
Six hundred! That number is a painful reminder to Family Promise of Greater Beloit that our work helping homeless families with children attain self-sufficiency is vital to the health of our community. Without the generous gifts and the countless hours our volunteers put in, Family Promise would be unable to assist this vulnerable population.
Family Promise of Greater Beloit's Third Annual Golf Outing at the Beloit Club on Sept. 27 owes its success to these friends, neighbors and sponsors: The Hannah Group, Regal Beloit, Beloit Health System, Data Dimensions, First National Bank and Trust, Brabazon Title, ABC Supply, Blackhawk Community Credit Union, Dupont, Cornerstone Credit Union, Wolf Dental Studio, Tricor Insurance, Gilbank Construction, The Morse Group, Premier Technology, Daley Murphy Wisch Funeral Home, Klobucar Construction and Versa Tool and Die, as well as our many soggy-yet-good-natured golfers. A special thanks to the Beloit Club staff for their help in making our day of golf so enjoyable for everyone, and to Chad Miller for helping us reach our goal towards a new playground for our Day Center.
Family Promise of Greater Beloit thanks all of our sponsors for their generous support as we continue our work with homeless families in our community.
