'$38,000 raised to aid Hospice'

Print Article

The 11th and final Hospice Breakfast at Skip's Friendly Village took place on August 26 with $38,000 raised to benefit Beloit Regional Hospice.

We cannot really begin to explain how much this event means to our organization. The financial impact is huge - it has been a weight lifted for the past 11 years. Far beyond that though, Skip and Larry are true advocates for the care we provide our community. They champion our services with respect and that has brought about community awareness but also always served as a huge morale boost to our staff. You cannot put a price tag on that.

The crew of volunteers that they assemble to help are our friends and we appreciate that they come together to help us out, smiling the entire time. The event took place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., in that time frame over 770 breakfasts were served. We were astounded and beyond impressed to learn that averages out to 3.2 a minute.

Cheers to the team of people coming together to make that happen. We want to thank Skip and Larry for 11 years of dedicated fundraising through the breakfast, that has generated over $237,000 for Beloit Regional Hospice. Thanks to your lovely wives Kathy and Belinda, for jumping at the chance to help. You guys host a great event. We will always miss it.
