On August 10, something wonderful happened at The Beloit Moose Lodge #191.
The members there hosted the Caritas "The 45" finale. It was the official finish of a fundraiser celebrating the 45 years that Caritas Food Pantry has worked to "close the gap" of food insecurity in our community.
It was a day of food, fun, and fundraising. When all was said and done, the Moose had raised almost $2,000 and over 1,000 pounds of food for Caritas.
We have been neighbors since Caritas moved into the Prairie Avenue facility. This gala marked the first time Caritas and the Moose collaborated. The majority of the work was done by Moose members. I just had to keep up with their energy and ideas. We look forward to a long and healthy friendship.
Summer is a challenging time for Caritas to raise funds. The Moose "closed the gap" of the Caritas revenue stream. What a blessing!
