'My first vote for John Wong'

Print Article

I'm looking forward to casting my first vote in the upcoming election. As a senior at Beloit Memorial, I will admit that I am most excited to cast my vote for the school board. Growing up in Beloit has allowed me to meet and engage with several of the people running for the school board. In the past year, I had the opportunity to work side-by-side with one of the candidates in particular, Mr. Wong.

Having Mr. Wong as our team's mentor for the 2018 Kids Against Hunger event at Beloit Memorial was invaluable. He kept on urging us to set high standards for ourselves and continually pushed us to have a forward-focused mindset. Mr. Wong did not just tell us to succeed and then walk away. He gave us the tools and motivation to succeed. He was consistently showing how invested he was in our personal development as students, not just the development of the Kids Against Hunger event.

I know Mr. Wong's honesty, tenacity, team-building, and leadership are going to be positively utilized if he is elected for the school board. Mr. Wong sees potential in every person he encounters and he is not afraid to push you to see it too. I cannot wait to see what is in store for the School District of Beloit with Mr. Wong and the other elected officials leading the way.

Vote April 2nd for John Wong!
