Adam Kinzinger retained his seat in Congress representing Illinois' 16th District while Cheri Bustos was re-elected to Congress in the 17th District in Illinois.
Republican Kinzinger was re-elected receiving 149,205 votes while Democrat challenger Sara Dady received 100,789 votes. Kinzinger, of Channahon, Illinois, was first elected to the 11th Congressional District in Illinois, but due to redistricting, the 11th and 16th districts overlapped and he was elected to the 16th District in 2012.
Democrat Bustos earned 139,461 votes to defeat Republican challenger Bill Fawell who received 86,218 votes. Bustos, of Moline, has been representing the 17th District since 2013.
