Man arrested for OWI had child in vehicle

JANESVILLE - A Janesville man faces a felony Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) charge ager he was stopped by police who discovered a 6 month old child in his vehicle.

Sidney R. Ivy, 26, faces his fourth OWI charge, with one aggravated with a charge of driving while intoxicated with a passenger under the age of 16, according to a Janesville Police Department news release.

Ivy also faces a charge of obstructing because he allegedly gave a false name to police. He also was wanted on warrants from Rock and Dane counties.

Ivy was stopped by police on Mineral Point Avenue near North Austin Road at about 7:50 a.m. He performed a field sobriety text which indicated signs of intoxication, according to the news release.

An OWI is a felony in Wisconsin upon the fourth offense.
