ROCKFORD - The Midway Village Museum, 6799 Guilford Road, Rockford, will feature "Hometown Heroes" from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday. Students from the Harlem Veteran's Project will share their compelling documentaries of Rockford's Vietnam veterans. Attendees can meet several of Rockford's local heroes, talk with the students documenting their experiences and see Vietnam-era artifacts up close.
Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for ages 12-17. The event is not recommended for children under 12. Museum members and Vietnam-era veterans are free. Admission to the museum galleries is included.
Documentaries shown will include "The Fear of Dying," with Thomas Morgan, produced by Kirstin Fudge, and "Shot Down," with Gary Kahler, produced by Jacqueline Wright.
