Robbers fire shot into ceiling of bar
Three men with guns stormed Coyotes Bar, 107 Dearborn Ave., at 12:42 a.m. Monday, demanding money and valuables from customers and firing a shot into the ceiling.
Beloit Police Capt. Bill Tyler said there were 17 people in the bar — two employees and 15 customers.
“All were robbed by the suspects,” Tyler said. “They fled on foot and left with an undisclosed amount of cash and valuables.”
No one was injured during the incident.
When the suspects fled the area, a department canine was called in for an attempt to track the suspects.
The dog led officers to a nearby side street where it appears the suspects got into a vehicle and fled the area.
Department investigators are working on the case, but no further information was released by press time today.
Anyone with information is encouraged to call the department at 608-364-6800 or Beloit Crime Stoppers at 608-362-7463.
